Welcome to Simcom.ca - Simcoe Computes! Home on the Internet
2009 has arrived and certainly promises to be an interesting and challenging year. With the economic climate of the last couple of months and all the political unrest in Canada, pending change in leadership coming in the United States and more unrest throughout the world I believe most of us are bracing for a difficult start to 2009.
The only thing I can say with absolute certainty is that the economy WILL improve and that things will get better . . . albeit they may continue to stay bad and potentially get even worse in coming months. Most estimates indicate it will be at least six months and more likely a full year or more before we start seeing a solid recovery and we regain confidence in a return to positive directions in the future.
In the computer industry 2009 will bring a mixed bag of dramatic price increases caused by the significant reduction in value of the Canadian dollar but at the same time many companies have overproduced (and/or undersold) product and must price very aggressively to motivate cautious consumers to spend.
At Simcoe Computes we are well positioned to assist our customers through these difficult times. Our excellent relationships with our distributors and key vendors allow us to keep a close watch on what is going on and allow us to guide customers regarding the best solutions to meet their budgets and needs.
With the economy in a rapid and steady decline of late we have seen substantial upward pressure on prices of desktop and notebook computers and all components . . . keep in mind the Canadian dollar has declined fully 30 cents and almost 30% in the last few months so it is actually quite surprising we haven't seen more dramatic increases . . . we're trying our best to hold the line but price adjustments are being passed along.
Microsoft introduced their latest Operating System "Vista" and their new 2007 Office software at the end of January, 2007. While many customers will still find it 'safer' to stay with Windows XP we are now recommending that serious consideration be given to moving to Vista when purchasing a new system. Many business users may still not yet be ready to make this move but we would now urge you to discuss the considerations with us prior to finalizing your decision. We have had great success with the new Office 2007 products and strongly recommend them.
Change is the one constant in this ever changing business. At Simcoe Computes! we pride ourselves on maintaining a keen awareness of industry trends and developments. Our close relationships with key partners such as Intel, Acer, Brother, Microsoft, Hewlett Packard, Seagate, Viewsonic, Samsung, Kodak, ATI Technologies and many other companies provide us advance knowledge of pending product releases and changes which may impact your purchasing decisions. We encourage you to look to us for guidance to ensure your investment represents the best possible decision at the time.
When is the last time you backed up the important data on your computer? In recent months we have had a surge in the number of users who have lost critical data on their systems and had to resort to very time consuming, and occasionally expensive, methods of data recovery.
While our technicians are excellent at getting back lost data, the most successful (and least stressful) exercise is to not lose it in the first place. If you are not familiar with the many options available to protect and backup your data, please ask our experienced personnel "before" something happens to your computer! There are now many easy and inexpensive ways to backup critical data . . . don't wait until it's too late.
Simcoe Computes! is very pleased to have an excellent long term relationship with The University of Western Ontario. We have been providing sales and service of computers and peripherals to them since 1990. In the summer of 2006 we were awarded a major contract to provide the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry with 125 computer workstations. We are pleased to report everything went very smoothly and in fact several departments provided us additional orders to further increase the number of systems we delivered. We continue to provide UWO with new systems on an ongoing basis and greatly appreciate the confidence they have shown in continuing and expanding our long term relationship.
Thank you for visiting Simcoe Computes! home on the World Wide Web. It is our goal and intent to provide our customers "THE BEST" Internet Service in the area. We are anxious to identify and meet "YOUR NEEDS" and will continue to expand and improve our services on a regular basis.
We welcome and encourage your
